The other one plays for you. This one hands you the picture and gets out of the way: run a finger across it and it sounds — left to right is where you are in the picture, up and down is the register, and how bright it is under your finger is how hard it speaks. The notes can only land in the key, so there is nothing to play wrong — but nothing plays until you touch it. No beat, no bar, no tempo. Jazz voices, and the timing is yours.
Draw with one finger, or several at once. Hold keeps the last notes sounding when you let go, which is how you get a chord to play over.

Where you touch decides the note: across is the column of the picture, up and down the step of the scale, and the brightness under your finger the weight of it. Several fingers make a chord. The picture is never the sound itself — it is what you are reading while you play, which is the difference between this and its noisier brother.
