WHAT THIS IS
Your telephone as a lighthouse. Type a line and SEND turns the whole screen into the lamp: white is the light, black is the dark between, timed as real morse — a dash is three dots, the unit is counted off the word PARIS the way operators have always counted it. A tone beeps along, telephones that allow it buzz too, and the line under the lamp reads along with the light. LOOP keeps it going, the way a lighthouse does; sweep the speed down for a lamp across the water, up for someone reading over your shoulder.
What it cannot do, said out loud: no browser may switch on the real torch LED, so the screen is the lamp — turn the brightness all the way up and point the glass. iPhones do not buzz (Safari has no vibration); the light and the tone carry the message on their own. Nothing leaves the telephone but light and sound.
